Well, here we are.

Websites and blogs scare me to death, but alas, welcome!

Allow me to give you a formal introduction; my name is Lilly Owens and I’m a student at Belmont University in Nashville, TN studying journalism and emerging media. I’m about to enter my second semester of my senior year, so I am obviously frantically hitting the panic button.

I came to college as a journalism major and I wasn’t scared away, which is huge! I pat myself on the back for that one because to be honest, I didn’t think that I could make it this far without a full-blown, dramatic come-apart. And while I’ve shed many tears in the bathrooms of the Johnson Center, pondered the meaning of life and why I decided on a high-paced, stressful career choice, I have grown to fall in love with the craft of writing more and more.

Everyone writes; in a journal, in the notes app (yikes), in your head, in Instagram captions. There is something so challenging yet beautiful about having to express what you or someone else is feeling on paper for other people to see.

This blog is meant to be like a diary. I want to keep it very casual and show off my writing style and voice. I don’t really have a set theme for what will be discussed, except for anything and everything that comes to the top of my head. So good luck with that!
