Amazing Madelyn Grace: Tracheostomy? More like trache-AWESOME-my.

Happy hump day! Here’s what happened today:

Madelyn had a good day today! She was resting well until around midnight when she was awake with some nausea and stomach aches. but once mom got to the hospital she started to rest better.

OT and PT did their thing with her and got her sitting on the side of the bed for 30 minutes with no trouble breathing. They also washed and brushed out her hair and got her looking all fresh.

They put Mad on the trach collar this morning around 10 a.m. and she was doing very well all day; her oxygen stayed between 97 and 100% and we’re hopeful that she will be able to stay on the collar and get it off soon.

She had her moments of anxiousness, but mom has started giving Madelyn a small set of rules.

Rule 1: Stay calm.
Rule 2: Just breath.

That’s a good manta to live by! Hopefully she will be able to rest with the trach collar and we are moving closer to the day when she can be off of the ventilator completely!

We hope for more good days and steady uphill climb.

Also, happy Winnie the Pooh day! I was told via Instagram that today was his day, so here’s a sweet Pooh quote to go along with tonight’s verse. Sweet dreams!

Lamentations 3:23 -

Your mercies are new every morning;

Great is Your faithfulness.
