Amazing Madelyn Grace: Towards the end of a winding road.
Hi! My sincerest apologies for the lack of updates this week. I’m going on a school trip tomorrow and things have been super hectic and I haven’t had time to post, and I might not be able to post much while I’m away! I’ll do what I can, but in the meantime here’s a quick update on Mad:
Not too much to share except that she is doing very well with all of the therapies! She has to see an ENT to check her vocal chords before the speech therapists can start working on her voice, but they’ve been doing exercising with her that help her short-term memory. She’s had big days of PT and OT and is doing great.
All of her bandages are off of her burns, and now they will just be able to heal on their own! She’s looking good and feels a lot better with all of that stuff off. She’s still been fighting a lot of nausea, but it’s mostly drainage built up overnight.
She definitely is anxious to get out of the hospital, and thing are looking REALLY good for her to come home! Whoop whoop!
Today she got to take a stroll down to the trauma ICU and meet with some of the nurses who cared for her when she was there. We sure do love and appreciate them for their constant care and will remain in awe of the work they do forever.
That’s pretty much the whole enchilada. The days are looking better and brighter each day, and her progress is no small feat. Thanks for checking in and for all of the love everyday!
John 15:4 - Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain on the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.
