Amazing Madelyn Grace: Country roads, take me home.

Hello, hello, hello! It’s been a while, and I believe it’s time for an update. Lots of big things are happening, and we’ve been waiting a long time to finally say this: MADELYN IS HOME!

She was released from the hospital and she, mom and dad have been making themselves comfortable in the country on Richey Farms. She’s doing better mentally and physically being at home and we cannot even express our gratitude that we are able to be where we are. At times, it truly felt like we would never get here, but she is home. And that helps her and all of us tremendously.

She will start her intense outpatient therapy this Thursday and will finally get a chance to see and ENT doctor and see the state of her vocal chords. She will travel to Skyline a few times a week for occupational, physical and speech therapies. While the hour and 15 minute drive multiple times a week will take a toll, it’s SO much better than being in the hospital and not being able to leave.

Overall, now is the time for us to start adjusting to a new normal. We have her home, and that’s the biggest step yet!
